Would it have a drastic effect to your dogs health if you dye or highlight his hair? Or even porcelain veener?

Posted on January 23rd, 2010 by admin

Or to put, like earings on him.
I mean, porcelain veener his teeth.
I mean, would those things I just mentioned make him clinically sick? I pedicure…is that a bad thing to do to a dog? What if the dog is a hybrid of a Alaskan Gray Wolf Mother and an Irish Wolfhound father…would that matter?
Don’t ask me why I would do it…just answer the question please and thank you. You do want the best answer points wouldn’t you?

Dogs are not fashion accessories.
Let the poor thing be.

Very sick dogs – why do people ask questions instead of going to the vet?

Posted on January 23rd, 2010 by admin

I’ve seen so many questions about health problems with dogs. Some of these are life and death issues. I don’t understand how these people could sit at the computer instead of getting to the vet. Are these responsible dog guardians? Not in my eyes.

of course they arent responsible dog owners.

they are stupid and/or dont really care about the health of the animals and want to save some money by avoiding the vet.

Why Are Boxer Dogs Jaw The Way They Are?

Posted on January 23rd, 2010 by admin

I have 2 boxers Mother n Son (2.5 yrs. – 4 month).
I just wanna know why they front teeth are so small and also why they bottom jaw is more forward then the top.
Do they jaws have an advantage that other dogs don’t have?

An undershot jaw is NOT, as someone claimed, the "result of overbreeding". It is an element of the Boxer Breed Standard, and gave the dog an advantage when hanging onto large, struggling game animals – the Boxer was bred to be a large game hunting dog, and this dentition (combined with the width of the jaw), gave it maximum gripping power.

This is also the reason for the Bulldog’s undershot jaw.

All dogs have small front teeth…but I suspect that the size of the teeth in the Boxer’s case has much to do with the construction of the jaw. This is especially true of the top row of teeth, which must fit comfortably above/inside the bottom row of teeth.

How do I teach my dog to be nicer to other dogs?

Posted on January 23rd, 2010 by admin

I have an 8-9 year old Chihuahua and every time one of my relatives brings their dogs over, my dog gets feisty and starts barking uncontrollably at the other dog and tries to harm them. We want to get a new dog, but it’s impossible to have 2 dogs in the same house under these circumstances. How do I teach my dog to be nicer to other dogs?

Socialize, socialize, socialize. It’s really kind of late for thinking about this but…. When you introduce your dog and if he starts barking discipline him by tugging at his leash (have him be wearing one), and use a negative behaviour word like NO or something along those lines. Keep this up and it might take some time because it is a bit late for socializing but I think it will work with time. Good luck!

A question for Christians about their pet dogs and cats?

Posted on January 23rd, 2010 by admin

I just read on a Christian messageboard that according to God through the law of Moses, dogs and cats are unclean animals, and that we should not touch them. If that’s the case, are Christians in sin because they love their dogs and cats and pet them?
Thank you for all the replies. I am a Christian too and love my puppy and kitty and did not like what that guy said one bit.

Do you believe everything you read on message boards?

What makes any of God’s creation "unclean"?

What’s wrong with God’s creations loving each other?

The above dog breeds are commonly believed to be extinct. Very little has been written about them and the dates of their extinction are largely unknown. As with all creatures who become extinct, there can be a variety of reasons that a particular dog breed suddenly ceases to exist. Sometimes it’s physical- the result of a disease that a particular breed is susceptible to, or a weakness in their constitution that makes caring for them difficult, causing people to lose interest and instead focus on other breeds. Extinction can also be caused by drastic cultural change, such as when the Cuban Revolution almost rendered the adorable Havanese extinct. In Japan, the Akita almost became extinct due to excessive dogfighting during the Meiji period (the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century). This noble breed was threatened again during World War II when starving Japanese citizens relied on his meat to sustain them. But extinction isn’t always the result of calamity. The particular traits inherent in one dog breed may no longer be valued by society. Without active breeding programs, these domesticated animals no longer have viable populations. While certain breeds such as the New Guinea Singing Dog and the Manchester Terrier have been brought back from near extinction, many others are lost to history.
