I am in need of specific physical characteristics of Boxer dogs and pit bull dogs?

Posted on March 5th, 2010 by admin

I need info that I can’t find on the internet. Such as certain markings only those breeds will have.
Animal control is trying to destroy my dog. He is part boxer and sharpei. They are saying he is pit.
Please help me ASAP
Thank-you
Apryle

No real way to positively identify him by markings, etc.

Have your vet stand up for you – most vets are very anti-breed specific legislation (because it does NOT work – thugs just move on to another breed, while family pets are destroyed). Also get a lawyer: http://www.thedogsbestfriend.com/lawsand.htm

Go to search engine and look up that particular breed, many breeders have websites and it should show the "Breed Standard", whats accepable for that breed, in conformation, marking etc….

i own a pit /boxer mix(currently in Texas im in Kansas), i have his photo if you wish to look at it, but get your vet to have it written down of his breed.

All I can say is that boxers and pits faces look alike easy to get it mixed if your not smart telling them apart

    Just IM me on golden_dragon_lover@yahoo.com
I love the pit breed and justdont like the fact people hate them for their bad rep.

Why are they trying to destroy it? did he bite someone or act aggressive, got loose?

I love my dog even though i spent hours and days of my week chasing him down after someonenlet him out or him escaping, lol. Love the MUTT. The city pound knows my dog and so do everyone else who lives around my moms house.

Unfortunately, due to the wide range of colors that Boxers, pit bulls and Sharpei come in there really isn’t anyway to determine this by their markings.

Boxer: Their coat is short, straight and shiney, and lies smooth and close to the body. Coat color is fawn (ranging from light tan, to ,mahogany) or brindle (with heavy or light vlack striping). There are white markings on the muzzle, chest and legs.

Pitt Bull: They appear very muscular, and have a bricklike shape and powerful jaws. It’s short glossy coat comes in all colors and markings, including brindle, white with patches of color black and red.
