Do boxer dogs like to follow you around?

Posted on March 7th, 2010 by admin

Are boxer dogs one of those dogs that prefer you over the rest of the people in your family and follow you around a lot??
Is it possible to train it to be less hyper?
What are some things to do with it to keep it entertained routinely?

well my boxer follows me around more then she follows my mom cause she is mostly with me at all times but if im not home she will follow my mom and she will look for me around the house but she can’t find me cause i go to work.. no they will be hyper and till they get older that is all dogs!
well she has my other dogs to play with, chews bones, goes for walks, play with her toys and ect…

I am in need of specific physical characteristics of Boxer dogs and pit bull dogs?

Posted on March 5th, 2010 by admin

I need info that I can’t find on the internet. Such as certain markings only those breeds will have.
Animal control is trying to destroy my dog. He is part boxer and sharpei. They are saying he is pit.
Please help me ASAP
Thank-you
Apryle

No real way to positively identify him by markings, etc.

Have your vet stand up for you – most vets are very anti-breed specific legislation (because it does NOT work – thugs just move on to another breed, while family pets are destroyed). Also get a lawyer: http://www.thedogsbestfriend.com/lawsand.htm

How Many of you own a BOXER ? Does Boxers are Loving and Playing like Golden Retreiver and Good Guard Dogs Too?

Posted on March 1st, 2010 by admin

q1 boxers are loving and playing with strangers like golden retriver ?
q2 Does they are good Guard Dogs ?
q3 How much Boxer eat?

what is nature of boxer towards dogs ? i own a golden retriver he is 2 months puppy and want a boxer also

Boxer Owners advice me please

what are great Qualaties in BOXER ?

Any well socialized boxer will be friendly to unfamiliar people. They will bark at people outside of their territory if you let them, which alone is a great deterrent of crooks. How much they east depends on what quality food you are feeding. Higher qualities require less amounts.

Properly socialized boxers are friendly toward other dogs. If your Golden Retriever is barely two months old, I think you should wait to get another dog. Having two eight week old pups running around is not going to be a good time. Think about potty training two pups at the same time. You’re asking for disaster.

Great qualities are that they have an abundance of energy, a willingness to please their owner, and are very intelligent dogs. They’re also good with children when raised around them, as any breed can be.

Good luck with your future Boxer. Focus on your Golden Retriever for now.

Socion: I doubt it’s the same troll I’m thinking of. "Golden is my son," or whatever. This guy speaks much better English.

Edit: Okay, I take it back. Should’ve looked through the other questions. ::slaps forehead:: Calling everyone "brother," or "aunty" gave him away.

How much exercise do boxer dogs need?

Posted on February 23rd, 2010 by admin

This boxer is 8 years old and used to run but now has a bit of a leg problem. She still has high energy though. What would be her ideal
• minutes of exercise
• walks a day
• number of days a week for exercising?

Take her on (2-3) 20 minute moderate- paced walks every day. If she has a problem with her leg, ie:dysplasia, you want her to walk on a leash beside you, not allow her to run hard.

Can boxer dogs be happy living in hot weather?

Posted on February 21st, 2010 by admin

I live in north central florida and I want to get a boxer. I don’t know how boxers will do with that heat.

i would never recommend that. summer’s here in NJ are hard enough on my 2 boxers. we have to severely limit outside play. even if they’re outside running around for only 15 minutes they’re panting for maybe 30 minutes afterwards. because they are brachycephalic dogs (squishy face as i like to call them) they have a harder time breathing than dogs with long noses such as labs, and the heat definitely doesn’t help. some are worse than others with it, my youngest (9 months) can play outside and get real hot and worked up and come in and be playing in the house 5 minutes later. but my diesel (1 year) will then have to lay down for a little while and recuperate. neither have any health problems or heart murmurs or anything, it’s just the breed. if you plan on keeping him inside except to take him potty and for many short walks, he may be okay. maybe like five 15-minute walks a day or so. and lots of fresh water. i’m sure people have boxers in florida, but if i were you i would get enough breed. even though they are the best breed ever… truly amazing dogs. =) hope i helped

to jen, it’s not the coat of a boxer that makes it not do well in the heat. the coat is why it can’t live in cold conditions, but it’s their bone structure/nasal cavity that makes them do poorly in the heat.

and whoever has had their boxer outside for 5 years, that is TERRIBLE. they are NOT outside dogs. they cannot live in the heat and cold. give the dog to a boxer rescue who will put the dog in a good home, he deserves a good home. he does not deserve to not be a part of the family. you’re not the right owner for him, please contact a boxer rescue in your area.
