What is the difference between German and American Boxer dogs?

Posted on April 2nd, 2010 by admin

There are several difference. german lines tend to have a larger bone structure there for giving them a larger size then the north american boxer. There muscle tone is much more pronounced and their muzzels tend to be quite a bit shorter. there jaw structure is a bit different then the NA boxer giving the german lined boxer a bit more of an under bite. german boxers have a higher prey drive and are not as good with cats or other small animals. German boxers are also more work oriented and will work harder and for longer periods then a NA boxer.

BOXER DOGS: what are some VERY important things to know before getting one?

Posted on March 31st, 2010 by admin

I don’t mean aside from the obvious thatit needs to be walked and fed etc… I mean important things
example: Boxers should not eat/chew rawhide bones

thanks!

I have 2 female boxers ages 1 and 5 months. they are the best dogs. so loyal and always wanting to please. but they are VERY high energy dogs that need walks daily. i personally also take mine to the dog park, their favorite place. They are dogs that always feel the need to be doing something so i crate mine when im not home cause they will destroy things in the house if not. They are very smart dogs and learn quickly with the right training. They are also VERY prone to get cancer. So at any point in your boxers life if you find a lump get it checked asap. Also they are prone to congenitial Heart Failure, usually later in like. Also they commonly get Hypothyroidism. So they are the kind of breed that need regular vet checks to make sure their health in check.

boxer Dogs and homeowner insurance?

Posted on March 27th, 2010 by admin

in the state on Louisiana in the N.O area does Boxer dog cause ur insurance to rise?.. and what are some links?

Your homeowners insurance carrier is sure to have a list of "dangerous dogs". If your breed of dog appears on their list, they may either raise your premium or exclude claims in which your dog is involved. You need to call your insurance agent for clarification.

Good luck with your search for information.
