Because I have a maltese dog she is about 4 years old and I am not sure if it would be ok to feed her Iams puppy food….but I usually feed her eukanuba (not sure how it is spelled) dog food and thats what I am supposed to feed her but she seems not to like it and she won’t eat it! So what am I supposed to feed her besides that?

Puppy food has more vitamins to help puppies grow.

She may put on weight and have looser stool but if you don’t have these problems go ahead and feed it to her.

We are looking at getting a shitzu x maltese puppy, but do not want it to develop a really flat looking face and overbite. The dad is pure bred maltese and the mother is maltese cross shitzu ( but has a flat nose and overbite) what are the puppies chances of taking the mothers traits?

well there is obviously a 25 percent chance that the dog will have more shihtzu characteristics. My purebred Mini Schnauzer mated with a Shihtzu (not planned) and she had 7 puppies 4 of them looked more schnauzer ie. long snout, normal teeth. and the other 3 looked like shihtzu’s all the way. But you can tell within a few weeks which ones look more maltese and which look more shihtzu.

My brother’s dogs got the WORST HAIRCUTS ever!!! Do not take your dog to the Tully Petco in San Jose.

I want to buy a Maltese dog but I have a lot of specifics. For one I may want a puppy but I would not like to have a hard time with the potty training. Second, I am 15 and my parents want me to buy the dog to show I’m responsible. How much do they usually cost? Third, are they of a light temperament? As in are they hyper dogs or could my dog just sit in my lap for a while. Any other things you think I should know would be so much help. Thank you!

Well i have a maltese dog and she is pregnant with her first litter. I’m 16 years old and I have had this dog for 5 years. These dogs are highly intelligent and she is a very calm dog and loves to be cuddled and loved by people. She warms up to friends and family in about 2 seconds of them walking in the door. They dont shed and they are easy to train and take care of. I love my dogs so much my family is opening a dog kennel because of how much love I show for my two dogs.

I have to go and rescue some dogs my sister was breeding and not taking good enough care of.. I am keeping two of them but I need to get rid of the other two. They are sweet dogs and just need love and care – all I ask is someone pay for their shots and they can have them? I live in Florida and am only going to be in Michigan for Sat – Tues.

Contact the local ASPCA. Little dogs are always in demand or find a group that specifically rescues Maltese dogs.

when he meets other dogs, he jumps backwards & forwards towards it and will sometimes bark. He doesn’t appear to be doing it in an aggressive manner, just over excited! Trouble is, other dog owners pull their dogs away as they’re unsure how my dog is going to react, therefore he isn’t getting to meet any other dogs. Any tips would be appreciated.

i would enrol him in some dog classes
at least there you know the other owners aren’t going to walk off!
Its a great thing to do as they all get to have some supervised’ play and if any dog is reacting badly the trainer Will step in and sort it out straight away

The fact that he’s so over excited could mean that he just needs another dog to tell him off
my Husky girl was the same then she got a telling off from a jack Russel ( lol ) now shes great with other dogs

i luv the maltese dogs and i have a 10 year old fat cat. do they get along? i want to get one!

like humans…it depends on the maltese.
and who wouldnt love a fat cat huh?
