How long does pravo can make dogs get sick?

Posted on March 7th, 2010 by admin

I asked because I want to know because my friend’s dog is dying.
We both said it is impossible for that dog get sick too quickly.
Give me something to understand.
Thank you.

Parvo is a virus, air born, meaning the pups down the street can have it and if you let your dog outside and he is not fully vax(and sometimes if bad immunity probs even the shots do not protect) the wind can carry the virus down the street to your house and your dog outside can catch it. Depending on the immunity of the dog determines the severity and fast demise. I have seen small pus die in 3 days, dehydration from diarrhea and vomiting,it is truly heartbreaking. When I have a puppies they are kept in a warm room the first 2-3 weeks, they never go out side till 9 weeks I adjust the temp in room as they get older, they have all 3 shots for parvo and distemper before ever seeing a blade of grass or go to the new home. I see people in pet smart with a puppies letting it run on the floor and contact with other dogs. The store asked that all pets be on a leash and vaccinated, but no proof is every demanded, so you can only hope. I educate many on this,as parvo CAN kill your dog, and break your heart!
Good luck to your friend’s dog, if not better, that an easy road to the Rainbow bridge is found.

How to make dogs really sick?

Posted on March 1st, 2010 by admin

The area where I live, I have a big problem of street dogs barking all night. I’m fed up with it. I’m thinking of giving them smthing to eat that –
1. is easily available (an OTC drug, for example).
2. would make them really sick and weak, so that they stop barking and fighting with each other.

PS – I’ve even thought of poisoning them, but I guess that’s too cruel…
For all those thinking of writing some hatred post –
Move in to my area and try waking up at 6 AM everyday…

They are harming you and therefore not "harmless", as some of the answers have stated.
Call animal control, but unfortunately you probably won’t see results quickly. Resources are stretched tight all over and for some reason, no matter what we do, there just seems to be more dogs. Do you live in downtown Los Angeles? Right now there are so many stray dogs, they catch 35 a day and still say for every one they catch 2 more got away!! Just imagine the noise and mess!!
Spay or neuter people.
As for you, see if you can rent traps yourself at the SPCA and/or animal control. There is a small rental fee and another fee if you want to bring in a stray, but it might be worth it to you. Maybe get together with your neighbors and "pass a hat" to get the money.
Don’t tell anyone I told you, but antifreeze is sweet (dogs lap it right up) and very poisonous, it doesn’t work right away, the animals will go somewhere else to die. Only as a last resort!!

What will make dogs sick at their stomach?

Posted on February 27th, 2010 by admin

My neighbors let their two dogs outside every day and they run over to my yard to poop. I go around once a week and gather up all the poop in a bag and then hang it on their front door. Believe it or not, they haven’t picked up the hint! So I want to leave a few little treats in the back yard that will give them the poops. It’s either that, or I’m buying a bee-bee gun. Anyone want to suggest a nice "treat"?
Thanks for your recommendations! I think I will call animal control and have them handle the situation. Although, my neighbors have white carpet and the thought of them cleaning up poop makes me tingle inside. :)

Well well well, it is nice to have dogs, it is the owners who are irresponsible, well, let me see from my book of revenge, get the pooh pooh with a plstic wrapper and wipe it on their door handle or the handle of the car,or leave it under their wheels, just dont get caught! and if ever they dont get it, i got a more potent action on this.now tell me if this makes you feel better.

Can I child get a rash/sick from dogs that they have been raised around all their lives?

Posted on February 23rd, 2010 by admin

I understand that you can get ring worm from a new animal, but can a child who was raised around the same dogs everyday get sick from them?
I was thinking a child could get a rash from a dog if it was in a different enviroment and a different dog!! could this be true also?

It’s possible. I used to be around cats and dogd all of the time, but when I was 7 I got a really bad reaction to dogs and cats. My throat closes off now if I get near ones that are not poodle’s or bichon frise’s. It started with a rash, a few years later nose and itching, then full blown. Be very careful. I can’t even walk into someone’s house with a cat or dog now or I’ll pass out and my lungs will close off.

Pet owners with questions about sick dogs or cats?

Posted on February 21st, 2010 by admin

I wonder why is it that a lot people would rather ask whats wrong with their pet online, then call their vet as soon as they realize something is wrong. Why is it that no one seems to utilize their vets? As soon as i sence something is wrong with my two dogs, the first thing i do is call my vet and explain to them whats going on? Why would i care and more then that wait for random people who are not vets to answer my questions? Is it jsut me who is wondering that? I mean if you were having a heart attack would you wait and post a question online and see who answers or would you call 911?
What I think is the best – phone calls are fairly inexpensive, and they dont charge for that. I mean i call my vet first thing if i suspect something and may be i am just lucky to have a vet who is very willing to give up information and really never said i should come in unless he felt it was absolutelly important. I mean just call the vet.
Bekka – sorry to say that but i would rather hear smth from a dumb vet with education then a smart person who knows nothing about being a vet. And also, you are not glued to your vet, find a new one.

A lot of people have wondered this, including myself. I’m not sure why some post questions that should be answered by a vet – I guess they are seeking validation that calling the vet is the right thing to do.
I always hope that maybe they have called the vet and are waiting for an answer or return call.
THis morning, I noticed that my dog was bleeding – I took her to the emergency vet immediately. Didn’t even think of asking why online. But, I’ve had pets before so maybe it is just experience or possibly common sense.
Anyway,my dog is fine – urinary tract infection – and I was able to get meds for her.

How do dogs not get sick from the stuff that are in their food?

Posted on February 20th, 2010 by admin

By products specifically..Maggots,dogs,cats,brains,feet,etc..

I’ve never seen a dog get sick from eating dog food, only allergies and stuff.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9DTzDfYMxo&feature=channel_page

Graphic video…

Anyway, that’s what the by products have..A bunch of bad stuff.

Some of these may cause sickness:

A. Salmonella bacteria

B. If there in insects in their food such as those carrying bacteria, germs, and insecticides.
