My grandma has been sick lately with nausea and diarrhea. Today, our puppy had diarrhea and now she’s outside gagging, like she’s going to be sick.
I’ve been feeling a little nausous today too.

So, could my grandma have passed her sickness onto my puppy and then my puppy pass it on to me?

And can I get anything from her if she licks me on the mouth?

Mild colds and flu are not transferable between species. There are only a very few true zoonoses. Parasites are the most common, such as scabies, roundworms and such. Rabies is zoonotic, but requires a transfer of saliva to blood. Most zoonoses are easily treated.

I started feeding my dogs ol roy, and now, all 3 of them cant stop puking. The worst part is, they eat it afterwards. I don’t know if it is the food, or if there is something being passed between them, adn they keep injesting it with the puke. Please, I know this is nasty, and all, but I am serious. I have a small child and am worried it can be passed to her.

OH my goodness yes!!! Ol’Roy is one of the WORST brands you can feed your dogs!

There is so much corn and fillers in that food that a lot of dogs can’t stomache it! Try switching your dogs to a food that has AT LEAST the first two ingrediants of meat!

Make sure to make the change over a week’s time… Slowly switch their food to the new brand. Your dogs will thank you for it!

My dog has Gastroenteritis and has been put on a diet of boiled chicken & rice, Why is that?

My sister just spilled a bunch of cashews on the floor & my dog ate em’ up. Will she get sick?

Depends on the amount. Most likely they will just get diarrhea if they eat too many but every dog is different.

My wife and child and I all have the flu which sucks but we have a cat and in my delusional 2 days straight of no sleep (I cant sleep when im sick) I thought to myself can cats or dogs catch the flu or cold from a human? If anyone has some answers please let me know.

YES they can especially dogs not so much cats it is harder for them to catch things of humans but dogs def do mine always catches our colds and tummy bugs my cat caught tonsillitis off my daughter

i got a puppy from the shelter a week ago and it turns out she has pnuemonia and 3 different types of worms. weve spent over 400 dollars on vet bills. but im fine with paying the bills cuz i kinda knew there would be, but i was curious if the shelter offers to pay for anything since they give people sick dogs.

Usually shelters won’t adopt out dogs/pups knowing they are sick. When they do adopt out a pet that has been suffering from illness, they usually have it treated and then send the new owner home with any medication the dog is currently taking. It would be understandable if the pup has parasites that are not covered by the general dewormer (general dewormers cover the most common types of worms) they are given (coccidia, giardia and whip worms are not usually covered by general dewormers). However, they should have been aware that the pup had pneumonia, pneumonia usually puts out noticeable symptoms. I would bring this to the shelters attention, but wouldn’t expect any payment from them.
