Are the dogs getting sick because the dog owners are not mixing in with the old formula, or is it because the new formula itself is bad? i just switched my dog food from royal canin to canidae all life stage. my dog is doing fine with the dry canidae bag food. but not the canned, he get diarrhea everytime with the can food. been fed my dog canidae about a month now. and he sometimes get really soft stool. or diarrhea. but most of time he’s fine and get hard stools. so is canidae good for my dog?

Yes, Canidae ALS is a good food. Yes, the reason that dogs became ill a couple years ago was because the company failed to properly inform customers of the altered formula, so owners didn’t know to gradually transition from the old formula to the new formula. The abrupt change resulted in digestive upset in many dogs; it wasn’t because the formula itself is bad.

If his stools are generally healthy, then try to pinpoint what might be causing the occasional soft stools. They could just be, you know, random, but it’s possible that they’re being caused by a certain treat or meal topping. Look for any possible connections.

If your sick( sore throat, normal sicknesses) can you spread your sickness to your dog? … And when a dogs sick how do they get better with no medicines and stuff or are you meant 2 give them medicines?

No.Your dog will not catch your cold or virus nor will you get his. I forget exactly but the normal body temp.of humans and dogs is about 4 degrees different, dogs being warmer. Germs and virus’s that thrive in one can not survive in the other.
It seems dogs seldom get sick for no apparent reason but if you have reason to believe your dog is sick, the vet is always your best bet.

The mills that supply Barkworks have serious violations of the Animal Welfare Act on their USDA inspection reports. The dogs in the mills that supply the store are subjected to cruel and inhumane conditions. The dogs are living in wire cages, exposed to freezing temperatures and lving in excrement. Barkworks has a moral obligation to convert to a humane business model like almost every other retailer in Los Angeles.

does IAMS smart puppy make dogs sick and which other brands make them sick and which brands don’t… what if my four month old boy puppy, CHeerio , threw up once and is still peppy, hyper and acting OK?

I believe only wet/canned foods were affected by the recall, check it out here to make sure, i know a lot of iams food pouches were affected & couldve made your dog sick, but im pretty sure you feed dry food which wasnt affected. Make sure though here: www.menufoods.com/recall
Even if your food wasnt affected by it, i think you should still see a vet about him throwing up.

Is there anything else that’s in chocolate that makes dogs sick that’s also in other foods?

It’s bitter sweet. Some parts are funny, some sad when she gets sick.
I admire my more… sister for saving Bell’s life. It cost her over 1,400 dollars in less than two weeks because the vet first thought it was an infection. But it was a stone. My sister can’t afford it and she’s now in more dept. But she saved this precious dog’s life.
I’m trying to think of ways to help her. Babysitting helps, but that’s for my own pleasure.
Bell is only 2 years old – I hope it’s not genetic.

Sure seems to be a new question about dogs throwing up and coughing and skin issues and allergies and one illness after the other on this site. Why do you suppose that is? Has anyone ever thought … man this should not be normal or this common? The vets office parking lots are full daily all day.. WHY?
Nutrition, over vaccination, over medicating in the name of prevention? I assure you there IS a reason and it is NOT normal every day issues dogs should be having. Why do you think dogs are so sick?

I think dogs are so sick because ppl that own them are ignorant, vets are overvaccinating our pets, dog food is crap, pollution is horrible, drinking water is chlorinated, chemical filled, unecessary medications, etc etc We have taken nature away from our dogs… that is why they are so sick. I mean think about it.. the vet wants to give your dog vacc every year when studies show 3-4 year effectiveness and in some cases lifetime immunity, vets want you to give your dog dewormer ever 6 months, pet food has carcinogens like BHA, and other chemical preservatives, monthly heartworm meds which in many areas dog do not need because there is no heartworm risk but the vet tells you to use it anyway, pesticides such as advantage, revolution etc are being sold and people told to put in on their dogs every month for the whole year, when its not necessary… I mean seriously, you arent even supposed to let that stuff contact your own skin and yet it supposedly "safe" to put it on your pet every 30 days for the rest of its life? no I only use it if my dogs get fleas, well they never have yet. It isnt normal stuff we are using on our pets and it isnt normal to give them so many harmful chemicals, and that is why there is an abnormally large number of dogs getting sick and dying.. we are killig them because big companies say we should use their product and vets do too to get their cut from the companies.. Its all business, and as we all should know by now they dont care about health they care about money and our dogs are suffering to line their pockets. Do you know how many times I have caught my vet trying to get me to give my pets unecessary meds? way too many times.. they even want to give vacc for diseases that dont even occur where I live, as well as unecessarily suggesting heartworm meds in a place that cannot possibly provide the necessary temperature conditions that allow heartworm to be transmitted. Good thing I do my research and work to dispell my own ignorance.. because of that all 3 of my dogs and all 4 of my cats are never sick… What amazes me is that all the ppl I know who do everything the vet tells them end up having sick dying dogs with cancer, and other fatal diseases. Out of all the ppl I know the ones who get yearly vacc, flea preventative monthly, heartworm meds monthly etc all have lost pets to cancer. While the ppl who do vacc every 3-4 years, use flea meds only when needed, and only use heartworm meds when needed have healthier more longlived dogs. Why? because they live a more normal life with less abnormal chemicals put on or in them. Too many ppl these days are falling into the overvaccinate, overmedicate vet business trap. They prey on the fact that ppl love their dogs, tell them they will die if they dont use the meds and scare people into slowly poisoning their dogs over their lifetime with too much of a good thing. I love my dogs so much, thats why both me and my dogs dont take unecessary medications… Dont get me wrong I take my pets to the vet but I also educate myself for their sake rather than taking the vet at their word when they are clearly a business funded by drug manufacturing companies who dont care if their products have long term health effects and give your dog cancer as long as they get their money. The fact is our dogs are getting abnormally sick because we are told to give them so many abnormal medications constantly… yes vaccines and flea/parasite preventatives are great and they save lives but there is such thing as too much of a good thing…. most of these products are deadly pesticides and chemicals that when taken too much over a lifetime actually stop being a good thing and turn into the means with which thousands of people slowly kill their pets with unknowingly… because they trust their vets and trust the drug companies. Well I have news for you, wherever money is involved you cannot trust people because as long as they make their money they dont care who it hurts in the process.

this is normal mine do it all the time I stop them as well but only because its gross lol hope this helped♥
