Maltese are companion dogs. They are NOT meant to be dumped outside or in the garage. No resposnible breeder or rescue group would have sold ANY type of dog to your parents. Honestly, unless your parents can start caring for the dog properly, the best thing is to rehome the dog with a family who will. http://www.americanmaltese.org/ama_rescue.htm I know it sucks, but it's really a horrible life for the dog. I hope your garage is heated though so your dog is not cold, if you get two dogs will they be aloud to stay in the house? just make sure that your dogs are well taken care of and can't get into anything please(in a garage they can get into ALOT) EDIT: Does your dog EVER come in the house? If not, than you really shouldn't get another dog, you should find your little dog a home were he can come in and have human contact, a Maltese is a breed that likes to be around humans, they are not a solitary breed, no dog is that is why they live in packs.
