I totally agree with you! Especially when someone asks questions that would require lab tests or x-rays to diagnose. I don’t know about anyone else here but I lack the psychic abilities and x-ray vision that would be required to actually know what is wrong:P
I’m trying to figure out how to program a couple of keys so I can just hit them and they’ll type out "Call the vet" or "Google is your friend"

Yes its the same when people ask about mental health or other serious medical problems these need private consultation not public forum type answers good for you for pointing this out maybe Yahoo will take note ~~

I think alot of people do come here for opinions or advice…lots of people just take it way out of hand and are too quick to say "get your dog to the vet NOW"…like I had a general hypothetical question about bloat once, and everyone assumed my dog was dying while I was sitting on the computer, so I basically got no answers to the question, which was pretty annoying. Of course, there are idiots out there who really do have a life/death problem and can’t get off their dead a$$es to do something about it…

i find it to be a wonderful place to ask medical questions. i go to the health section for my own medical problems. some of us are not as wealthy as you. PS when my dog gets really sick i have a friend take him to a no kill shelter they get him better. then i go down and adopt him.

Yeah of course it is. I just keep hoping and really believe that all of them are trolls. I just can’t see leaving a mutilated dog in the road after being hit by a car or a dog that is bleeding out all different kinds of orifices and their first thought is coming on a computer. I have a little more faith in the human race… (lol, though it doesn’t say a whole lot about them if they’re doing it for some kind of joke or for whatever reason they do it either)!!!

I totally agree. Why do they have animals to begin with if they "cannot afford" a vet or have the nerve to ask "What should I do my dog is limping and crying!" Ummm, go to the VET! Can be an answer for many of these questions.

i’m with you. the best ones are those that are asked about animals in the health section. geez.
i know, many times, it’s the kids that ask and, in those cases(they’re usually obvious)i try to be a bit more helpful if i can but, the adults who just don’t want to take their pet to the vet, are beyond me.

I know what you mean…I just ignore the questions like" my dog has been vomiting blood for 3 days..what should I do???"
Most( I hope) are put up to get a rise out of people, the rest..well I just don’t want to think about it.

but yeah, it gets really, really old.

I can see it, in a theoretical. If your dog is vomiting up blood, however, I'm curious as to why you are on Y!A.
