How long does it take for rabies symptoms to appear in dogs?

My little dog chased a big Lab today and they didnt get into a fight or anything, but i was just wondering how long it takes for rabies symptoms to appear in dogs.
Rabies affects the brain, so within 10 days an infected animal will be dead. This is why if an animal bites and isn’t up to date on their rabies vaccine they are quarantined for 10 days because if neurological symptoms appear in this time, they are considered to have rabies.
I wouldn’t worry about your dog because the lab most likely does not have rabies. As long as your dog is up to date on its rabies vaccine, then all should be fine.

It can take up to a year if I remember correctly, but the only way your dog would get it from the lab is if the lab was positive for it, and they got into an actual fight where blood was drawn, etc… To my knowledge, a dog can’t get rabies from another dog just by being around a rabies positive dog. Has your dog been vaccinated for rabies? If not, he should be just to be on the safe side. He should also be fully vaccinated altogether to prevent him picking anything else up from another dog.

10-14 DAYS…& MUST be passed through infected animals’ fluids into another animals bloodstream.
