    Yeah I get that. I’ve heard him sing in the JPP and he’s actually good. However, in this vid he is missing notes in a range any trained baritone would easily hit. So it’s not a range problem it was just a training problem back then. I’m sure it would be no problem for him today. And even this performance still rocks mega, joe is just cool.

    i was 16 in 77…at that time there was not even vhs video around…the only chance to see bands like aerosmith was on tv in assorted shows…there were only 3!!! channels at that time….germany sucked at this time…maybe it still sucks today…the only good thing on getting older is that you are now more connected with the world..

    hope the gents will come back on track soon…hagen is not steven….no one is…

    Joe wasn’t supposed …
    Joe wasn’t supposed to be a contributing singer. Steven shared the mic with Brad as well. In their studio stuff from the 70’s you only hear Steven. His moving around made it possible. Joe didn’t start singing as primary till the Joe Perry Project.

    i’m sure he tried but his voice was out that night.

    Joe was a weak …
    Joe was a weak singer back then. When the amps are really loud and you can’t hear yourself a weak singer will always blow out their voice trying to hear themself. A trained singer like Steven can just feel it even when he can’t hear himself over the band. Kind of like a good guitar player can play in the dark. When it comes to singing Joe really needed to see the strings so-to-speak (hear himself). However, he’s actually not a bad singer now. Even then it was still really cool stuff.

    @Arrowzmyth yeah, one of their best, everyone has a bad night, and they have just a very few, he didn’t even try.

    Oh ok! I wonder why he didn’t hit the high notes though. It’s a really good song and the vocals are a big part of it too!

  9. sueellen360 Says:

    @Arrowzmyth he …
    @Arrowzmyth he didn’t hit the notes in that performance, but they played more times in the 2003.
    he still can hit the high notes, look for “Back in the saddle live 09″ you will see.

    Well, they didn’t play home tonight, who knows… they played you see me crying after 34 years.

  11. Arrowzmyth Says:

    I agree the Rocks …
    I agree the Rocks album was the best album they ever made but my question is, why did they do live performances of every song in Rocks except Nobody’s fault when they were all young like this? The live version they did of Nobody’s Fault in 2003 sucked big time cuz steven can’t hit the high notes anymore! But the guitar did rock during that performance!

    I wish the band was as bad now as they were during this time period. I think drugs actually helped them be creative, and make kick rock songs that will be known forever as classics. Just simply a perfect rock n roll song right here.
