Can people get sick from dogs or vice versa?

My grandma has been sick lately with nausea and diarrhea. Today, our puppy had diarrhea and now she’s outside gagging, like she’s going to be sick.
I’ve been feeling a little nausous today too.
So, could my grandma have passed her sickness onto my puppy and then my puppy pass it on to me?
And can I get anything from her if she licks me on the mouth?
10pts.
Mild colds and flu are not transferable between species. There are only a very few true zoonoses. Parasites are the most common, such as scabies, roundworms and such. Rabies is zoonotic, but requires a transfer of saliva to blood. Most zoonoses are easily treated.

I have heard that the bad stomach flu bug going around this year — the norovirus has had many cases of dogs getting sick.. apparently dogs can catch it from people but not vice versa. Keep away from the vomit or feces of an infected person which can float around, wash hands REGULARLY with antibacterial soap and stay away from your grandma,…. bleach her bed sheets down. EWW thats a nasty bug

Unlikely. But you probably got it from your grandma. Viral infections are usually species specific. But do take your dog to the vet.
And yes you can catch intestinal parasites if she licks you on the mouth. If she has scabies or ringworm then yes you could get by holding her.
