What’s in chocolate that makes dogs sick?

Is there anything else that’s in chocolate that makes dogs sick that’s also in other foods?
Why is Chocolate Lethal?
Chocolate contains theobromine. A naturally occurring stimulant found in the cocoa bean, theobromine increases urination and affects the central nervous system as well as heart muscle. While amounts vary by type of chocolate, it’s the theobromine that is poisonous to dogs.

theobromine can also be found in the kola nut, the tea plant and guarana berry

Not what’s in chocolate specifically. It’s just the chocolate itself that makes them sick. However, there are other human foods that are very bad for dogs, including:
Onions
Garlic
Grapes
Raisins
Potatoes
EDIT: I sit corrected. Theobromine apparently is found in other foods. Either way, though, it’s not the only thing you need to be careful of.

The problem with chocolate is that it contains a substance known as theobromine, and this substance is toxic to dogs. This substance is part of the xanthnine compound, the same family that contains caffeine and theophylline.

Theobromine. Its fine for us, but dogs & cats can’t process it. It kind of shorts our their brains.
